2009 COPLAND HOUSE GALA

The latest in Copland House’s eagerly-anticipated, annual culinary and musical feast this year celebrates the vibrant city of “20,000 streets,” filled with “romance and danger … silk and satin”* -- the place where Copland was born, and which continues to attract artists and artisans, entrepreneurs and dreamers, industrialists and financiers seeking to be challenged and energized by New York’s heady mix of glamour, grit, and grandeur.

This stunning, one-night-only event features the architectural and visual splendor of Manhattan’s landmark Four Seasons restaurant (designed by Philip Johnson, with artwork by Picasso, Miro, and Pollack) and the gastronomic wizardry of Chef de Cuisine Fred Meko and his award-winning staff in a specially-created, four-course culinary triumph.  The artistic magic of past and present New York master composers Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, John Musto, Derek Bermel, and others will be performed live by the internationally-acclaimed Music from Copland House.

The Gala Co-Chairs are Katherine Petitti Kornel, Ezriel Kornel and O. Anthony Maddalena.  Gala Underwriters are Carol and Robert Morris and Teri and James Babcock.

New York at Night will include a silent auction and a souvenir program journal, and will be open to a select and discerning audience of only 175 people.
